Hi Gang,

> I also grew up in Eastern NC. RM, Wilson, Durham,
> Goldsboro, Wilmington. During the 50s when all that
> GREAT music was hapening. I had an Uncle named
> Robert Barts that lived near Atlantic Beach in the
> early 50s. He repaired the Games in the joints at
> Atlantic Beach and also worked on the Juke Boxes in
> that area. This was the time that he was converting
> the Juke Boxes to play 45s instead of 78s. He was
> very generous and gave me many 78s and 45s that had
> all the GREAT Hits back then. My Ding A Ling and
> other Greats were in those freebies. I felt like a
> King. We were living in Wilson at that time.
> Anybody remember the Creamery or Parkers Bar B Que?
> Mighty good eating there.

> In Wilmington I played in a Band and we went to
> Lejune to play at a Beer Joint. As the Band was
> walking in the front door I got one step in and
> felt a hand grab the Back of my collar to pull me
> back. The bouncer didn't know I was with the Band
> and being very young, he thought I was sneeking in.

> And for Boz, we played the Pavilion several times.
> Also played at Isle Of Palm Beach at a place called
> Little Richards in the late 50s.

> You may call it Rock & Roll, R & B or Beach Music.
> All good memories for me. You can play Clyde
> McPhatter and The Drifters anytime for me.

> Ruby Baby, Money Honey, Shag those Blues away.

"Frankly I have been listening to 94.9 The Surf on the web until they went to paid listening. So I decided to take a few minutes to do a web serach for maybe some more beach music on the web. Got to your site via Wille C's site refering me to your show. I live in Smithfield, N.C. The show seems fine to me, of course I have not listened enough to make a fair opinion. The music is good and seems to me to be a strong clear stream with good stereo seperation on my end with a 56k modem. Much better audio quality then 94.9. I do like the few words you have prior to some songs giving a little history and info about the music. Hope this is a success for you and I will keep listening. As I listen more I will let you know any other thoughts."
